"Donalegge al Castellazzo" is an old farm, whose restoration was finished at the beginning of the year 2003; It's set in the typical landscape of the Sicilian country-side, at 800 meters of altitude, on the edge of the natural park of Madonie and only 30 minutes far from the sea. "Donalegge al Castellazzo" is known for its charming atmosphere and its extensive panaromic view of the surrounding landscapes, including the volcano Etna. The farm is set near the archaeological site of Polizzi Generosa and near the biggest salgemma mines of Europe.Locality: Country-side Donalegge in the commune of Polizzi Generosa (Palermo). Distances: 3 km far from Polizzi Generosa; 12 km from Petralia Sottana; 81 km from Palermo downtown; 125 km from Palermo airport; 100 km from Catania . Layout of the farm: It's laid out on different levels. Upon these different levels, the dry-stone walled buildings are united by cobbled-stone paths, some being approachable also by handicap ramps. The hotel is set on two floors with 11 rooms: 3 of them have balconies that face the big yard of the entrance as well as the "italian" garden, one has been accustomed for handicaps and the rest of the rooms face the different landscapes of the Madonie country-side. Rooms: All the rooms contain toiletries, showers, telephones, internet connections, TV and adjustable thermostat heaters. All of the heating is produced by ecological combustibles. Common places and services: Big hall on the ground floor of the hotel, reading-room and lounge. Restaurant: The first-rate restaurant, the "Borbone's fork", is furnished with elements of design and can host up to 80-100 people. In the summer seating is also available on the outside porch where guests are able to enjoy their meals in closer contact with nature. Meals and Cooking: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served at the table. The restaurant specializes in regional and classic Italian cooking. Bar: Connected to the bar are two small reserved rooms. The bar provides outlets for internet connection. Activities: Swimming pool, with solarium (complimentary for guests), archery, and games for children. Car-park: Large unsheltered parking lot. Excursions: Excursions by request; from Donalegge to the regional park of Madonie, by horse or car, or to the archaeological sites or to other places of historical interest such as : Cefal?, Palermo, Segesta, Selinunte, Erice, Piazza Armerina, Catania, Taormina, Siracusa, Agrigento.
